16 December 2025 – FLOWSPARKS and the Dutch Basketball Association (NBB) are extending their partnership for a new three-year period. The extension follows strong growth in the use of online training programs and marks a next step in the further content-driven development of the collaboration.
The new agreement was formally confirmed on 18 November 2025 at the Topsportcentrum Almere, during the Orange Lions international match between the Netherlands and Slovenia.

Online training within the NBB reaches thousands of participants
In recent years, the Royal Dutch Basketball Association has fundamentally modernised its training offering. Since 2020, digital learning has become a permanent part of this structure, with FLOWSPARKS being used to enable trainers, officials and youth coaches to follow online training programs in an easy-to-access and user-friendly way.
This approach has led to widespread adoption of these e-Learnings, with more than 6,000 participants using the online modules each year. As a result, Basketball Netherlands is among the sports federations that actively deploy digital learning within the FLOWSPARKS framework agreement of NOC*NSF, making a visible contribution to the further development of digital learning in the sports sector.
“FLOWSPARKS gives us the opportunity to further improve our training and make them more engaging for everyone in our community,” says Jorrit Beerens, Training Coordinator at the NBB. “We are pleased to extend the collaboration and look forward to new developments such as multilingual modules, a read-aloud function and a direct integration with mijn.basketball.nl.”
The role of Basketball Netherlands within FLOWSPARKS
An increasing number of sports federations are using FLOWSPARKS as their standard learning platform within the NOC*NSF framework agreement. The total now stands at 24. Within this group, the Royal Dutch Basketball Association holds a clear position as one of the larger users, with active involvement in the further development of digital learning solutions for basketball.
“We have been working closely with the Basketball Association for many years and see how professionally and creatively they develop their content. This results in tangible outcomes: a large number of users, high completion rates and a positive learning experience,” says Esther Mulders, Customer Success Manager at FLOWSPARKS Netherlands. “FLOWSPARKS tools are designed so that federations can create high-quality e-Learning without specialist expertise. It is great to see the NBB taking a leading role in this.”
Building further on easy-to-access digital learning
With the FLOWSPARKS platform, sports federations are able to efficiently create, manage and distribute online training programs to their members. In addition to supporting individual federations, FLOWSPARKS also works with NOC*NSF on the development of learning modules covering topics such as elite sport, sleep and nutrition.
This approach aligns with the broader ambition of NOC*NSF to promote sport and physical activity with a focus on health, social development and inclusivity, within a sports sector that is becoming increasingly professional and is placing greater emphasis on flexible and secure learning.
“The sports world is changing rapidly, and with it the way we learn and share knowledge. It is great to see how professionally and creatively sports federations develop their content within FLOWSPARKS,” says Guy Janssen, Operations Manager at FLOWSPARKS Netherlands. “We will continue to invest in functionality that makes learning and content development even easier to access. We are proud of the extension of our partnership with the Basketball Association and look forward to continuing to make a difference together for everyone involved in the sport.”
